Foundation Day
On the 22nd of May 2015 the Saint John’s community participated in the annual school fair and besides the weather it was a great day with every activity getting lots of visitors. Some of the activities were putt putt golf, a petting zoo, guessing competitions, “The Footy Show”, soccer shot outs and many more. Every student helped out with their activity and all the activity were ran very well because everyone work together as a team to make the day fun for everyone. The weather can’t stop the St. John’s community having fun and keeping the tradition.

25th Anniversary Mass
On the Saturday following the 2015 Foundation day, there was a special mass and liturgy held to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the founding of St. John the Evangelist Catholic High School in 1990. Before the mass itself, the school held an open house, where visitors could visit the many different parts of the school and learn the history of the school and its founding. Next, everyone attending went to the front of the school, where a brilliant performance was done by the Indigenous dance troop to welcome all the visitors to the school. The new Pax Christi Garden’s located at the front of the school were then blessed by local St Michael’s parish priest Father Patrick Faherty.
After that, mass was held In the School Hall. The event was made even more special with a stunning choir and instrumental band led by Ms Lloyd, with even Mr McCann lending his guitar and singing skills as well. Refreshments were then served in E Block, with memories, speeches (and cake) being shared and remembered in the final moments of the evening. Many significant people attended the school liturgy, including ex principals of St Johns, the current principals of St. Michael's and St Mary’s star of the Sea, founding school members, teachers, as well as past students. Overall, it was considered a great evening for those who came, and is a great example of the amazing community and rich history our school has.
